A Look Into the Past

History of the ICA

Founded in 1949 through the vision of Imam Mohamad Jawad Chirri, the Islamic Center of America has grown from a small community dream into the largest mosque in North America. More than a place of prayer, the ICA is a home for generations of Muslims and a welcoming space for people of all faiths and backgrounds. Through worship, education, youth and senior programs, interfaith outreach, and local and global relief efforts, we continue to serve our community with faith, compassion, and purpose.
