This years Michigan Muslim Capitol Day will take place on Thursday May 17th from 9am-3:30pm. Last years Michigan Muslim Capitol Day was a successful event with Muslims from across the state of Michigan come to the capitol in Lansing and meet with their elected officials including Governor Snyder to discuss issues of importance to our communities.
Michigan Muslims will come to Lansing and attend meetings with their particular State Reps and Senators from their own districts, attend a luncheon with the hosting State Reps., Senators and Governor (invited) and also watch the opening invocation of the House session by a local Muslim.
Giving the current political climate and divisive rhetoric often directed toward Muslims it is increasingly more important for all Muslims to stay active in engaging their elected officials to increase dialogue and understanding.
